Description
The key component affiliated with Baltic amber’s healing properties is succinic acid, which accounts for 8% of its make-up.
Succinic acid is found in many vitamin supplements, heart medicine and topical creams for arthritis. Baltic Amber, in particular, is often found as an active ingredient in Chinese medicines. Baltic Amber necklaces are sold in pharmacies in many European and Asian countries.
That’s because succinic acid can be:
- anti-inflammatory,
- immune boosting,
- antioxidant-rich
- calming and soothing
How it is believed to work:
Amber contains succinic acid, which is thought to have anti-inflammatory and painkilling properties. It is believed that when the beads are worn next to the skin, succinic acid is released into the body, providing relief from the pain and tenderness of teething. There is no scientific proof however many people believe it has helped to aid and soothe teething pain.
Safety:
DO NOT let your baby chew on their amber teething anklet. The beads may be a choking hazard and amber resin is not meant to be chewed on. We advise babies wear their beads on their ankle to reduce the risk of chewing and / or choking. Always be mindful when and where babies are wearing their anklet for choking hazard. Check the amber jewellery regularly to ensure the thread and beads are secure and strong, if there is any damage then please discontinue use and dispose of the item. Make sure anklet is screwed on tight, check regularly.
